Swine Flu Pandemic in Colombia

Is this being reported in Colombia? My GF asked me to look at the news and while I didn’t see it in the Colombia news, I did see it on CNN; with specific reference to Mexico city and ‘the Americas’.

Has anyone seen any news on it?

It was quite a big story in CNN - started in Asia.

Back in 76, they had everyone go down and get this Swine Flu shot. I got one. Got sick as hell for 11 days. If that is anything compared to this new strain. You can keep it. I layed in bed for 11 days. Hardley keep 7up or Cherrios down. Sick as I have ever been. Don't know if I would get a another swine flu shot.

Like Buongone I took the Swine Flu shot and it almost killed me. Made me very sick. There were many people paralyzed or killed by this shot. On of our friends has been confined to a wheelchair ever since takings the shot.

Hi gringoloid,

I think a lot of your ideas are intriguing, but horses are routinely vaccinated against VEE. I think someone really screwed up with the supplement mix as has been implied in some of the articles. There were ingredients that could easily cause internal hemorrhaging and heart problems in the wrong doses. Heartbreaking story.

Portena1 says on Apr 25, 2009, 17:58:

I certainly agree with your point of looking at all the angles, gringoloid. And, of course, VEE from Fort Detrick would be weapons grade.

Selenium overdose could be quite deadly for a horse a veterinarian tells me. I have owned horses all of my life, gloid. Especially in Florida, any responsible horse owner is going to vaccinate against VEE. I also know some people on the international show circuit and there are quarantines and other precautions taken when transporting horses internationally.

http://scienceblogs.com/grrlscientist/2009/04/selenium_overdose_caused...

I'd be a bit more concerned and suspicious about the swine flu right now when considering conspiracy theories.

I don't know, it's just that everyone is baffled, and that itself is baffling. I'm doing what any good detective would do and keep an open mind. My complaint witht the Fox News religionists is that they take whatever is handed to them and end of story. Anybody who asks a question is a nutcase.

-----------------------------

Well, and calling someone a 'nutcase' is the best way to discount the truth when there are conspiracies. Look at all the instances of political dissidents who were locked away in psychiatric hospitals.

Portena1 says on Apr 26, 2009, 10:10:

Gloid, I know you were referring to YOURSELF as having been called a 'nutcase'. I'm saying I don't think you are.

Anyway, my veterinary friends telll me it's too soon to have results for the necropsies - these things take time.

Also, there are cases where dosage errors occur because the pharmacist misread the (often sloppy) handwriting on the prescription.

For example, the dose of Selenium used in the compounded drug was 5 mg. Perhaps it was written as .5 mg and the decimal point was overlooked? To prevent these types of errors many physicians and veterinarians will be sure to include a zero before the decimal point. 0.5 mg. Medication errors happen all the time in the health care industry and they are therefore are one of the safety issues that is constantly monitored for improvement by hospital patient safety committees.

I think it's higly likely that a pharmacist might catch a dosage error when preparing a medication for a human, but I think they wouold be much less likely to realize or catch a dosage error when preparing a medication for an animal.

Portena1 says on Apr 26, 2009, 11:40:

Why go after the ponies with VEE? And who would be the connection from Fort Detrick?

As mentioned in several articles these games are not played for the money. The purses are about $1500.00 which would not cover board or feed for even a day for 21 ponies in this very wealthy area in Florida.

Sure, there are psychopaths who might simply want to wipe out their competitor due to a grudge, but killing the ponies with VEE stolen from Fort Detrick?

Maybe there are very strict quality controls in place at that compounding pharmacy as you are assuming then maybe not. One would hope so. However, despite all kinds of quality controls in hospitals, medication errors are one of the biggest dangers patients face.

As I mentioned before, I'd be much more concerned about the Swine Flu pandemic, and what might going on in this case...

Carry on with your investigation. : ) And give us a full report as soon as you close the case.

"Fox News is a metaphor for the corporate controlled media. i pick Fox because it is well known and easy to type. If i was to be more accurate i would write abccbsfoxnbccnnbbc, etc. there is print media too.

If I lived in the states I would watch NBC Nightly News every night as that has the best and clearest spin. There are a lot of clues on NBC where as Fox is just plain old propaganda."

Me too, but it seems that NBC has withdrawn from all foreign markets, so no NBC, MSNBC, or CNBC. I had CNBC, but I had to upgrade my cable service twice to keep it, and then it finally faded to black. Now I can watch MSNBC content on internet, but must pay for CNBC.

But I have CNN, ABC, CBS, and Fox, Fox, Fox, and more foken FOX on cable!

"and portena, i'm not ruling out that this swine flu thing is a deliberate distraction to throw everyone off from say, Gaza-Iraq War Crimes, torture scandals, Federal Reserve and Wall ST crime, etc. the Scott Petersen trial and fanfare was to keep everyones mind from the upcoming Iraq war. hundreds of spouses are murdered each year, why was that such a big deal.

the 1976 swine flu epidemic turned out to be bogus. was that to get people's minds off of watergate and get the country moving again? who knows?

lets take a vote on the real reason for this swine flu thing.......

A deliberate distraction from the torture scandal
A deliberate attempt at depopulation
A deliberate attempt to scare us all into world government
A combination of depopulation and world government
Someone dropped a beaker at the bio-weapons lab
A sales pitch for Rumsfeld's vaccines
God's punishment for bad singers in church choirs"

Maybe all the above?

Maybe you could get a prescription for the antivirals that work against it as a precautionary measure - So far, This strain of swine flu does appear sensitive to the antiviral drugs Relenza and Tamiflu, but not to amantadine, or Symmetrel, and rimantadine, or Flumadine (according to the news reports I'm reading). No vaccination has been created yet.

hi miamimike i have a question for you the question is this do you think a vaccine manufacuturer would release a vaccine to the public knowing people were dying from it and it was contaminated with aids..??
------------------------------------

More crazy stuff; just what the "Toxic ingredients" you write of in a flu vaccine injection? Mercury injected in your bloodstream???
=======================================================
What is the flu shot?
The flu shot is an inactivated vaccine (containing killed virus) that is given with a needle, usually in the arm. It contains three influenza viruses. The three vaccine strains – one A (H3N2) virus, one A (H1N1) virus, and one B virus – are representative of the influenza vaccine strains recommended for that year. Viruses for the flu shot are grown in eggs.
