Lcacique says on Jul 10, 2008, 18:21: aahhh memories of cruising around town in '84 or so terrorizing the city on my skateboard with my walkman on. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Lcacique says on Jul 11, 2008, 12:37: I am in my thirties now, aztec. And I was sponsored back in the day, thank you. Or is there something shameful about skateboarding? 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

aztec says on Jul 11, 2008, 12:50: No not at all. I was jealous that I never had the exhilaration of the sport. We only had "roller skates"!

Lcacique says on Jul 11, 2008, 12:58: Sorry to hijack the post again, tejas. But for some reason you posting that song took me back and I hit youtube for awhile. I am not a real fan of Def Leppard...really I only ever liked High and Dry (their 2nd album) and maybe a couple of the songs on their 1st and 3rd releases (on Pyromania you could see the decline in my opinion and even though people seemed to love it and their later stuff I couldn't quite stomach it)...anyway I thought I'd post a classic off of High and Dry. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Lcacique says on Jul 11, 2008, 13:11: Sorry aztec, both for thinking you were being condescending and for the fact that you lived in a world without skateboards. I was rarely afforded the opportunity to surf so skateboarding was the next best thing. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Lcacique says on Jul 11, 2008, 13:44: I remember Angus saying that people often say that ACDC was guilty of writing 11 albums that all sound the same; however, he called them all liars and said that they actually wrote 12 albums that all sounded the same...jajaja. What a good sport! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

dwmte7 says on Jul 11, 2008, 17:15: aaah, skateboarding.....when we had our store in palm springs (calif) used to go out to the flood canals coming down from mt. san gorgonio, sweep em down and ride our asses off. the boys were a whole lot more ballsy then me. they'd ride the walls and come crashing down into the bottom pullin out beautifully. the only problem is/was. one damn pebble, and you're eatin cement. dwmte 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

tejasmarcos says on Jul 11, 2008, 20:23: have you guys seen lords of dogtown? trying to walk a straight line on sour mash and cheap wine... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Lcacique says on Jul 11, 2008, 23:50: i never bothered watching the movie, tejas. I saw the documentary about the same cats called "Dogtown and Z-Boys." It was incredible to see such old footage because I grew up in awe of those guys. They were the first wave of skaters to revolutionize skateboarding. I had a friend that skated as a semi-pro for Alva. Tony got my number through mutual friends because I was building a ramp, but he was actually looking for another friend of mine with the same first name that was building a halfpipe. Needless to say I gave him the number and skated with him later that day. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Lcacique says on Jul 12, 2008, 11:30: Lords of Dogtown was filmed just a couple of years ago (2006), but it was based on a documentary (Dogtown and Z-Boys) that was filmed right before it. The documentary includes a lot of archival footage from the 70s and it is narrated by Sean Penn. Also has a great soundtrack. it is a top-notch documentary and anyone remotely interested in Skateboarding would find it interesting.
