DATE OR SOUL MATE PART 2

Sexual Chemistry and Attraction

According to some scientists, our attraction to others may be about having the right chemistry after all! For decades, scientists have studied why humans are attracted to each other and have found that dating and mating is influenced by pheromones, powerful chemicals produced by the body.

Pheromones are natural air-borne chemical hormones the body produces to attract the opposite sex. You can't see them or smell them, yet they can be powerful enough to instantly draw another person in. They are now thought to be the key to the chemistry of "love at first sight."

An organ just inside the nasal cavity called the vomeronasal organ, appears to detect trace amounts of pheromones, and stimulate the limbic region of the brain, also known as the "Seat of Emotions." The area of the brain is responsible for our emotions and passionate desires.

A precise concentration of pheromones can kick off a rush of chemicals in the brain within a matter of seconds, and can make people feel a strong emotional and physical response. "The next thing we know, the fireworks begin," says Dr. Amend. "This formulation for men can produce that response, and while the chemical cascade may take mere seconds to occur, the effects can last a lifetime."

"Attraction is all about chemistry" says Amend, "After all, men and women have been hard wired from the beginning for one basic purpose … and that is to reproduce. This formulation for men merely taps into the power of nature's chemistry by triggering the signals women are programmed to sense and respond to".

"Humans naturally produce their own pheromones." Amend continues, "However, our cultural habits can wash away, distort or hide our natural pheromones with frequent bathing, detergents, antiperspirants, etc.

Ok - so - we have a choice I guess

Stop bathing jejje (EEEEKKK)

Or...there is mention of some pheromone mixture this doc has created and is selling (it looks like a possible snake oil saleman scam)

Interesting, many know this information but this info was new to me

"while the chemical cascade may take mere seconds to occur, the effects can last a lifetime."

Hmmmm - so maybe it is possible one person can be "the one" with right chemistry, jeje

Good article CG!

Now how does this play with people who marry whatever will marry them for papers?

that aint about chemistry, unless the one wanting the papers is so excited about it that these pheromones kick in strongly when they see a sucker with the ticket. With these latest Colombian developments, the miracle rescue, the thriving economy, etc., I am feeling pheromones starting to kick in on finding a woman there that will rescue me, and let me live there. jaja
Happy 4th of July to you MaFe.

admittedly, arriving can feel great too

I don't know Amiga. Good question. I guess maybe one feels the attraction and the other is capitalizes on it?
I only know that although I can find people attractive, I don't always feel chemistry or attraction. It is like that beautiful ring you see in the store! But it is really "not" you and you would never wear it (so you don't buy it) but you can admire the work that went into it ;)
I have also had chemistry and attraction will people that are not generally seen as attractive to others :). When I am with a man and there is chemistry he is the most handsome man in the world and gets my full attention, even if Antonio Banderas walked in ! jeje....All that matters to me is that the chemistry, UNO. But chemistry with another person it is rare for kitty. I find many more men attracted to me and I cannot reciprocate, ever have this?

Dawg? What happened? i thought you were already taken? What kind of comment is that..did you sell your handle on EBay? Are you the same Dawg I've been emailing ? jejeje

I think they've found it has a lot to do with human immune systems. According to the research one is attracted to someone whose pheromones indicate their immune system is different from yours (so I guess potential offspring would get a genetic boost in terms of their immune capacities for fighting off disease). Supposedly being on the pill can interfere with this process for women and lead them into a less than optimal relationship (genetically speaking, at least).
