perfectstranger comments on Would anyone like to rent or sell us a stroller in Medellin?

Just get an "umbrella" stroller for now. When you get back to the states get on craiglist and look for a BOB. I bought mine new. You have to have one. Being poor and having a baby can get rough you need a stroller so you can be mobile and not stuck around the house, especially for the mami, and baby, and papi too. Greg is right you are not going to find the prices and or quality you would in States. Chances of getting a good used one....slim. NO ONE BUYS THEM SO NO ONE HAS THEM TO PASS DOWN. Unless you find someone on PBH...your chances are slim even families from MDE who know a lot of people can't find these kind of baby items to borrow, rent, or buy from other families. Before I left MDE last time I gave a "co-sleeper", crib, highchair, baby bath tub, clothes, baby tent, and toys to my drivers' sister for her children. All of those things came from States to Panama and eventually colombia. Very nice things but sometimes you are better off buying a cheap local option and being the one to pass it down to a family when you leave. If you get an umbrella stoller from carrefour you can bring it on the plane with you when you go. Craiglist has a ton of used strollers and other baby items. When I came back I replaces most of our items from craiglist, paying TEN bucks for a highchair, used, instead of 100 new.

perfectstranger comments on Anyone serious about Debentures, commodities trading, investment programs

Stocktrader...very interesting question. There is such a product. Although we have not worked in that area yet, I would be happy to ask a partner on another deal who would know and get back to you with exact info. Our main objective is help clients that require instruments as guarantees (collateral)for trading (buy/sell), import export, etc, also monetizing of various types of instruments, e.g. BG, MTN, Bond, FRn“s, etc., we also work with a reputable provider for HYIP and PPP on a case by case scenario, could also help clients on project fianance and commercial fianance, monetize inground assays, etc. Sorry I can not provide you with better information as of yet but i will get back to you and good luck.

perfectstranger comments on we have been penetrated, or breached, if you will, by the West African scammers

Gringo, LOL the terms penetrated and breached were chosen because they sound totally ridiculous they sound! Obviously, they just joined and sent pm's. Easy. As I said, they don't even know who they are pm'ing as long as you don't have your personal info in posts... I don't think it is a bad idea to have aminimum posts before you can pm, but like we said, it is really not a big deal if you don't respond, at least from an email connected to anything else. No one believes that BS or takes them seriously.

perfectstranger comments on we have been penetrated, or breached, if you will, by the West African scammers

I put my money on the Bears, so I am good. If that is a racial innuendo I would check myself. As far as the insinuations my avatar is not me, I already said I am an old, fat, ugly guy on here trying to lure in all you hotties out there on PBH!

perfectstranger comments on The bad Thing about Drug Traficking

in other words...the governments do not wish to stop the drug trade, the wish to stop the traffickers not affiliated with them so that they may take over the drug business for themselves.

perfectstranger comments on PBH technical Question...

Yeah I have had Macs for, well, since I was a kid and we do , although rarely, get a virus. I know why. They send me a perscription and it clears it right up in less than an hour.

perfectstranger comments on PBH technical Question...

Thanks guys, I think somethings about Mac and PBH are a little weird. Also, I have a virus...

perfectstranger comments on The bad Thing about Drug Traficking

The idea here, for the U.S. and Colombian government is not to STOP drug trading it is to CONTROL it and the proceeds for their own advancement. They are currently a little salty because they did not get in on the action quite as early as Escobar. Laundering money ain't that hard as long as you do not have a problem with the fee. There is exploitation is a necessary part of business as we know it, and government as we know it. Is it something that people complain about but few people in either countries in question do anything at all about it, except get poorer while the few go out and party as you say dwmte7.

perfectstranger comments on The bad Thing about Drug Traficking

Ferran obviously you know way more about the way drugs and the colombian economy in regards to it operates than timeforchangeofscenery.....Although I do not think you really got into, enough, they way hundreds of thousands of peasants were employed, schooled etc.. EVERYONE and sector of the colombian economy made MONEY...Many facets of the U.S. economy benefited... WAS IT ALL WORTH IT is the question. Just like any OTHER prusuit of money goes, major social, moral, philosophical, epistemological questions arise. The drug business is really o different than many other business like the legal druf business. Escobars point was simple and straightforward. Business is in WHOLE is Fcksd up that is undeniable. NO BUSINESS benefits "the people" and the people are smart enough to now that...hence they are hustling everyday to make ends meet. And let us not forget La Violencia the era unto which these drug traffickers were born. Did they perpetuate violence YES did the start it NO. Many multi-national companies have been cited for their MURDEROUS practices but none have been criminalized like the drug guys from Colombia. Shell (petrol) sprays nigerians with bullets on the regular killing thousands of innocents. THis is documented, supported by overwhelming evidence yet ACCEPTED. Pepsi company is causing thousands of deaths, homelessness, with their LEGAL business in India.

perfectstranger comments on General Tip for All those with Novias and Fiances Visa Questions

COWBOY-NOT EVERYONE IS MARRIED, there is no need to marry just to get your 'novia' over to the states. point blank period. Those 'times' are BS...they can tell you what ever you want to hear. YES NOT ONE SIZE FITS ALL so why are you correcting me on the SAME POINT. GET OVER IT and stop wasting time arguing a non issue. The point is DO NOT GET MARRIED JUST TO BRING SOME ONE TO THE STATES. You do not need to and can actually make things take longer. It normally takes much longer than five months ESPECIALLY FOR COLOMBIA, Brasil, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Bosnia, Sierra Leone, Senegal, etc... Five months would be nice but it ain't happening for the average novia situation that we are so inundated with! You do not need to marry a novia for immigration purposes, officials will make it difficult for you, they can smell it from a mile away, this is the point! YES ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL, so WE AGREE. Let it go and if you want to keep going on about it, start another thread. Please, thank you.

perfectstranger comments on General Tip for All those with Novias and Fiances Visa Questions

Two years is relatively fast. I gather things will not be getting any faster than that for countries like Colombia. In fact, I believe spousal and fiance visas will become more limited for Colombia and impossible for Brasil within the calendar year. Some countries it takes even longer. I know people who have applied for fiance and spousal visas, complied completely, meet every requirement and are still unable to get them for their loved ones in West Africa after three years! On the other hand some countries are almost automatic, maybe a couple months and they can bring their whole family, countries like Kuwait, The Emirates, and surpise Saudia Arabia. They can obtain visas very easily however they rarely stay very long. Certain European countries are very difficult for people to bring fiances or wives from as well, they would consider one and half years to be fast in comparison.

perfectstranger comments on General Tip for All those with Novias and Fiances Visa Questions

Permanent Resident Card holders is another word for Green Card holder. So yes, this post is for those who are neither resident, nor card holder. I am not interesting in arguing back and forth with you. HOWEVER, I am offering a solution for individuals WHO ARE NOT MARRIED and the option of K-3 is not available to them, duh. They need not be timid on applying for Fiance Visa which can be very accessible. I worked for State Department. I worked for a private law firm specializing in immigration. So thanks for your "clarification" it is not relevant for everyone. MOVING ON

perfectstranger comments on General Tip for All those with Novias and Fiances Visa Questions

PS if you read the post you would see that I was referring to 'bringing...to the U.S." not multiple entries, be happy you got your wife to the U.S....some people are just looking for a way to get them to U.S. and are not concerned about leaving and traveling back and forth...This post is for them.

perfectstranger comments on General Tip for All those with Novias and Fiances Visa Questions

Utopia- you said she did have a k-3. then you said she a had a k-1. who is talking non-sense? check yourself. Yes, you have to accept that you may not be able to travel freely, BUT if being together in the U.S. is your goal, it may be the fastest solution. Going freely in and out of the U.S. whenever you want is a luxury reserved for citizens and permanent resident card holders in any case. People that "leave" to soon did not follow the instructions or understand them.

perfectstranger comments on General Tip for All those with Novias and Fiances Visa Questions

No, I have no clue about the visa in and outs in UK sorry.

Yeah go bears... We actually have tickets for oct bears v steelers. I am pretty excited. dwmte7... Thanks for the suggestion but no thanks. I actually already have met, several times, the couple we speak of, actually just the male half. I used to have a membership to the club they "work out" at. Hardly anyone really uses this club for reasons other than social. Chicago people, you know which I am talking about.

perfectstranger comments on Hey any PBHers currently in Chicago...

Everyone is invited, but umm..if people are going to be flying in for this I think I need to do some major work here I would not want to disappoint. Maybe some flame throwers, belly dancers, at least a band. So far I got Chi, Milan, MDEtraveller and Gomez all on the list and waiting for further details.

perfectstranger comments on perfectstranger

You are right Larry but I am all out of sympathy here. Present yourself like a chump and you will get treated as such. Throw yourself under the train and you will get run the bleep over. Sorry.

perfectstranger comments on Help Needed - My Colombian Angel

and really pal, it does not matter how it happened, if you went looking for it or not. It matters how you handle things from that point on.

perfectstranger comments on

You met her while she was returning from her FIANCE...nuff said.

perfectstranger comments on Help Needed - My Colombian Angel

I hear you kevin, but you do not want to come off with a savour complex to your girl...UNDER PROMISE AND OVER DELIVER. And NO one can Save anyone, except you know who... Sounds to me that you are a tad caught up here. I mean it is all good to help, but to have an entire relationship based on one person helping and one getting taken is dangerous. I know its up to you. If I were you I would re evaluate and in time things could prove STRONG but now looks thin. You wont be able to help anyone if you lose yourself in the process. As mother I can see that first hand, i would do anything for my son, but if kills me in the process he will be without a mama. you know, you gotta take care of yourself. You have to realize that what you are trying to do may not EVEN BE POSSIBLE.

perfectstranger comments on Help Needed - My Colombian Angel

Unfortunately I am in Chicago at the moment, otherwise I would take you up on that beer.

perfectstranger comments on Help Needed - My Colombian Angel

kevin those are malls in MDE

perfectstranger comments on Help Needed - My Colombian Angel

lol. no I am married, thanks though ; ) i love dem wings though

perfectstranger comments on entering colombia...

Not enforced, at least with me...entered colombia around 15 or so times more than half without a return ticket, if they did say anything, you have an eticket. no one has ever said anything to me. further, you dont have to go home, you just have to leave their no where does they require you to have a ROUND trip per say, just an exit. But like I said I have had numerous trips as well as my husbad, my mom, and sisters =probably 50 all together without issue

perfectstranger comments on Help Needed - My Colombian Angel

I hear you ratbag, and just FYI i was not referring to anyone (i dont know you or anyones story is) but I know a few peopl ein my personal life who have. Kevin, I hate to say it...but after your latest reply I am more convince this relationship is not equitable or viable. Your foundation is based on "help" you cant go back and fix it later. Foundations are the key to any relationship. You should know that you being "helped" or better SUPPORTED is just as important. You end up feeling lonely if you are not supported and you wont be if your only there to support her.

perfectstranger comments on 65 people murdered during Medellin's flower festival

Yeah in my year in MDE (08-09) I felt and heard the frequency of things increase quite a bit. Just like I would be anywhere, I am hyper vigilant. I have had to fight my way out of some very scary situations in a few countries. You got to have your wits about you at all times. You dont have to be an "a"hole or rude to everybody, but I always look at strangers on the street or new people i meet, as the next person who may try to harm me, my family, my property, etc...I believe I am alive today because some of the measures I take everyday to help safeguard my life. Anything can happen anywhere. The problem with many expats in colombia they are used to a different "acting" assailant. In the states the majority of victims' attackers are from their same demographic and that is sociological rule of thumb. Anyone traveling with wives and/or daughters tell them not to take no sh**t and fight with everything they have WHEN it comes down, it will, we just have to be prepared. Women are the number one victims of MURDER by ten fold, and number one victims of assault by FAR. Better be prepared. IF it's him or me, you better believe I have had to teach some low lives a lesson DO NOT F*** with women or anyone else, not of all of us will take it!
