august says on Sep 11, 2008, 00:12: Jesse, I just saw your posting about changing money in Capurgana. I'm not sure if it's too late, but basically you're going to have to convince/hustle other tourists - especially the ones making the reverse trip - into exchanging their cash with you. It wasn't so difficult in my experience, but yes, Capurgana's really gotta install a cash machine - that's definitely the worst thing about the place. Other than that, the place is quality. Not too terribly much to do there besides mosey around and feel cool that you've made it to a relatively remote spot, but it is beautiful and relaxing. I'm thinking about going back for New Years, I've got such good memories. Also, stay at the Dolphin Hotel (owned by Hanibal): clean, cheap and comfortable.
