Scarves in Bogota

Just wondering if anybody else has noticed a ton of the younger kids or young adults wearing black and white patterned scarves that are essentially shemagh or keffiyeh-- scarves/headwear most famously worn by yassir arafat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keffiyeh. I was bored and started browsing this and I guess there is some huge debate in the US on whether these products should be pulled from stores..go figure haha. Just curious though.. ...

Visa extension question finally cleared up....Bogota DAS

Just went to DAS in Bogota the other day and want to give the info I found...first this post would pertain to US CITIZENS, as I have a US passport. 1- You need ONLY 1 passport sized photo with BLUE background 2- The TOURIST extension fee is paid to BanCafe and is 63,800 not 127,500!! 3- Two photocopies of your passport photo page 4- Fill out a form they give you at DAS I ASKED FOR 60 DAYS AND THEY SAID NO PROBLEM AT ALL!! --There is a space for blood type on the form they give ...

Need a room for a month in Barranquilla

Thinking of heading back to Barranquilla and was wondering if anyone knew of rooms or decent areas to rent in that would be 500,000cp or less for one to two months I went in January and stayed at the Prado72 hotel for only 30,000 a night and will probably crash there until I can find something...but if anybody has info would be much appreciated. ---That hotel is not bad for anyone needing cheap, short stay...no hot water and hard beds..but free internet and breakfast..plus im used to sl ...

Quick Visa extension question

Hey all! Quick question-- I am US citizen and have been floating in and out of Colombia for a while now, but always do two months at a time and have never had to renew anything. I am thinking of staying three months this time and my two months goes on March10. If I get another two month renewal through DAS, and only stay 20 or so days, will they take the whole two months and count it towards my six month total??...or can you ask a set number of days with them?? i doubt it. Id go down and ask ...
