Desi, I meant to comment on another post before, I have always been interested in spending
some time, possibly an extended amount, in Sweden. As you know, Americans or just about
anybody besides Scandinavians have a difficult time working there, although I am doing more
and more freelance work so that may not be as big an issue when/if I did go. What would be
your thoughts or advice if I wanted to go? Thanks for your time!

desi, thanks for the lulu.com website- very good info for starting up a restuarant, as we work with an orphanage in bogota, and have family members there as well-
this would be a great tool to use in this endeavor -ie the PBH cookbook, calendars etc
thanks and hope to see you in bogota..

Cody, it's just people from outside EU that have trouble living and working in Sweden. I have little knowledge about legal aspects pertaining residence or work permits for US citizens here; I just know that we have quite a few US Americans living in Stockholm and Gotheborg, but most of them are either married to Swedes, work for American/multinational companies or war desertors. (Sweden granted asylum to some of the Viet Nam war desertors).

If you have anything specific in mind send me a pm, I check my prrofile but seldom. I'd be glad to try to find out .

Maria, I will start working onthat cookbook myself after Christmas when I have moved and settled in my new home in the sticks. Lulu.com looks very user-friendly and I may be able to handle it by myself. We could have PBH calendars printed there, with the flavour-of the-month pinups (male hahahahaha).

Sure, would love to meet up in Bogotá when I get there next time.
Lots of luck with everything you are doing there,
Des
