like if you got hurt in general ( morally, emotionally, physically, economically and all the llys you can think of ), just keep on, don't cry, dont't be a mama's boy/girl, etc, etc, etc.

Sóbese que no hay pomada = Cry me a river. That's the only phrase I can think of that pretty much means the same.

Sóbese que no hay pomada = literally "rub yourself until there's no lotion left" ..... or basically keep bitching until it hurts

But...I asked my novia about this expression. She is from Manizales and lives in Cartagena. Neither her or her Mom had ever heard it. So I'm not sure how common it really is. Just an FYI.

yeah... but it depends on the region, every departamento or even small town has it's own sayings...
for instance, "sóbese que no hay pomada" it's used very often here in Armenia.
We have lots...
- "La constancia vence lo que la dicha no alcanza"
- "Es mejor callar que locamente hablar"
- "El que mucho abarca poco aprieta"
- "El que mucho habla mucho yerra"
- "Esa fue la gota que derramó el vaso"
- "Hijo de tigre sale pintao y de chucha rabipelao"
- "El que a buen árbol se arrima, buena sombra lo cobija"
