Price of gold and jewelry

I was needing to buy some gifts and was told gold & jewelry are cheaper in Colombia. I'm needing to purchase 2-3 necklaces and a ring,not sure of the stone.

Just verify the quality and note some prices back home before coming over. I visited at least 10 joyerias in Pereira in search of gold bullion and came up empty handed but saw plenty of gold jewelry all types of varying quality.

I couldn't even find gold coins for sale in Pereira.
