This woman is very irate over the lack of good internet service in Colombia.

It's the same in Spain. Telefonica we call them timofonica. Takes them 6 months to show up to fix anything. They should outsource the call center to India just to piss off the customers a little more. Spanish with a heavy Indian jive, that would be lovely.

Las compañías de servicios publicas tratan a los clientes con las patas. Los muy HPs le cortan servicios cuando no deben, se tardan en conectarlos, si es que lo hacen. Eso si, son pero buenos para cobrar aun cuando a uno no le han ni conectado el servicio. La mayoria son una verdadera porquería cuando se trata de servicio al cliente.

They are light years ahead of where they were 20 years ago, hell even 10 years ago.

I remember getting an ISDN line installed at a school in 2000 and EPM sent six techs who sat around scratching their heads until I booted them out of the way and did it myself.

If she was really that desperate she'd cancel telmex and hire something else. There is no excuse for treating a poor bastard who works in a call centre the way she did. How can this idiot expect good service or help when she is yelling like a banshee and cursing like a sailor? I wouldn't have helped her either. There is always a way to solve things in Colombia and getting pissed off is really not an option. I used to have the same problem with my Internet Provider back in Colombia and all you have to do is be polite but firm, if a visit has been scheduled then you call on the day and confirm... I understand its not supposed to be like that in the first place, but if you want things done in Colombia you have to learn how to nag in an appropriate fashion.

It can get to be absolutely infuriating talking to these worthless customer service reps. "Señora, en este momento ...", "en este momento ...". They verify all day and get absolutely nothing done.

Ay, que chistoso! - igualito de lo que me paso recien aca en el Reino Unido - que no llegaron los tecnicos y me quedo en casa esperando, que no me hicieron nada durante meses sin servicio, que dicen que es por falta de pago pero otros dicen que esta activo la cuenta, llame mil veces, pase horas en el telefono y ahora estoy que me reclamo mis gastos telefonicas etc etc... yo entiendo a la viejita PERFECTAMENTE!!!!
