Continental have a great rate for lovelorn rednecks.
Little Rock Arkansas to Medellin for $550 inc taxes
LIT-IAH-PTY-MDE-PTY-IAN-LIT available every weekday in September
It costs $10 extra if you want to travel on a weekend but hey what's 10 bucks apart from a corn dog and a ride on your buddy's donkey

If the stories are to be believed, he spent some quality time with Colombian "model" Adriana Rincon. johnny2009 says on Aug 10, 2009, 18:10: Yes that same trip without little rock is $927. There is an advantage of going the long way around, if you are a collector of continental points then you have more collected. However IAH PTY MDE is 300 miles shorter than IAH MIA MDE with Avianca and AA.

drvannostren says on Aug 11, 2009, 12:10: As dumb as it feels to go backward to Bogota, we all know that's just how the airline industry works. For me to go from Vancouver to Miami, it'd be nice to fly direct, doesn't exist, so it'd be nice to fly from west coast canada diagnally down to florida stopping somewhere in the midwest, doesn't exist. It sucks to have to touch down at HUBs all the time, but it's how you keep flights full and cost effective. I flew MDE-MIA a couple weeks back and I couldn't believe that my B757 (250ish seats) was like 1/2 full at best. Seemed like a waste. Could've easily been using a smaller aircraft. But that being said my FLL-BOG 767, was totally full. The one time I flew BOG-IAD was chock full too, on a much smaller A319. If they had enough people daily to go from MDE-SMR there'd be at least 1 flight, but clearly there isn't, so ur stuck going through Bogota. No matter where you go, the Korean tour bus isn't far behind. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

nine inch nails says on Aug 12, 2009, 07:36: now price the route IAH-MDE. Although much shorter distance and one less connection bet it is much higher. CAL's monopoly out of IAH sucks big time.
