Golf in Santa Marta?

Did a search. See Irotama Golf & Marina. No such search results on the Actual course. Thought I saw the Country Club letters on a google map. But have not seen anything else. Do they have a course in the area to play Golf. In the Mornings.

I've lived here in SM for 4 months now and I haven't seen any golf courses - of course I don't golf but when I was living in Medellin I noticed many golf courses up towards Las Palmas - maybe since the weather in Medellin is better for growing grass (grin).

I could of swore a couple of yrs ago I was going to Santa Marta. Never made it. But was looking at some ad they had. It showed part of a fairway shot in the article. I believe I saw it on a map the other day, also. Could be wrong. But I like to beat the ball some. So hey, If not anything else. Get me a cap. Have to do some more checking. Or just skype the Irotama. Talk to somebody in reservations. Maybe they know.

Well. Did a bunch of searching. Turns out the Irotama Golf Resort & Marina, has a Campo de practica de Golf. Which in essence is a putting green. Then they have a Green Flotante. Which in essence is an large overturned antenna dish that is floating out off the shore maybe 20-30 yards. Must be bouyed up. Kinda like something to chip too. Better than nothing, but not no Golf Course. Found something else that might be happening. Maybe not. It's called Centor Recreacional Teyuna, KM8 via Gaira, Contiguo Country Club. Did not have any foto's. Might be new, in the process, or a pipe dream. Got a phone number. Will call later today. 57 095 422 1084 ( I'm no Travel Guide Writer, so take it for what it's worth)

I used to shoot to 10 when I was 17. Not no Mas !! Lucky to break 100. Need more practice. As in trying to find a course in SM. Developed too many bad habits as I got older. Hard to break.

Their is a golf course in Santa Marta, played there many times with a retired American Navy doctor.
It's about a 10 or 15 minute drive west of Rodadero on the South side of the highway. It is only 9 holes and any golfer will get a kick out of the 9th. I believe someone tried to start a golf community there and it did'nt go.
Winter rules are in effect January, February and March. It is'nt much to golf and the price includes a caddy who makes sure that every shot has a desirable lie.

Hmm, I know the Hotel Tamaca has a convenio with a golf course nearby:

But it doesn't show up on a google search under that name, nor does it appear in this list:

Brians, i couldnt bring my assault rifle arsenal here, so i brought those clubs for protection. Miniature golf while intoxicated and the course is closed is my forte.

i actually bought them off of an ex-gf who was pissed at her new husband and wanted to get even with him (he got arrested for hitting her with a shovel, and she was divorcing him). She sold me his two brand new sets for pennies on the dollar. I brought them here to Cartagena with me. Already had a high end mountain bike otherwise i would have bought that too.

So you switched sports and gave up sex? your post is not clear in that regard. Please clarify. =)

I spoke with a Jaina this morning at the Tamaca Hotel. I asked her about the golf course. It was hard to find on the net. But she said the course was there. I believe they call it Contiguo CC. Must be the one capt lou is talking about. Question, Capt Lou. Do they rent clubs? I asked her if it was 9, or 18 holes. She said 19. I asked if the 19th hole was a bar. She said no. When was the last time you played there?
That's cool. I always wake up early in the morning. Might be able to do 9 holes before the heat gets too hot. Capt Lou. Thanks for the above post. Been doing research on it for a few days. Almost hit a deadend. But it's like the game of Golf itself. Just 1 good shot. And ya keep coming back.

It has been two years since since I played the course or for that matter Rodadero, but I believe they do have club rentals.
I also believe a 19th hole exists. One thing I forgot to mention, wear long pants and socks. The golfing was the only time I had ever been bitten on the coast. I will probably be travelling there early next year for the first time in two years
once this pipeline project is completed.

Your savings may be offset by the wear and tear on your shoes, and how thick the soles are! If you go barefoot all day long, you save money by not having to buy shoes! DUH!

My God! I can't believe that there are actually people who had nearly the same experiences that I had. I once had two different sizes in the box when I got home. You betcha I sure did complain. After 8 years the same store manager is always looking at me funny when I pass by the store.

He did offer me a free pair of platform shoes. I think that they might have been trying to unlod them. I got a pair that was not quite purple, it was between reddish purple and reddish brown and they had a suede feel to them.

I just use mini Christmas lights. With a transformer, I can bring the total watt draw down to 4.5 watts. And the room looks really neat, like my old college dorm room.

Yea, but Larry. How many of the other bulbs can you buy for $20? Cost vs Quantity. Do you actually save that much ovr time. How long do the bulbs last. Also are we talking US dollars. Or Peso's? How did we get to Light Bulbs from a Golf Course??? Ha!

Capt Lou. Why would they have a 19th hole, on a 9 hole Golf Course? Most of the 19th holes I've seen were a bar.

With a $500 investment, I could just get night vision goggles. I could golf for free at night, saving $100 per round. And then I wouldn't need any lights in the house. Those night vision goggles would have a 100% return on investment within weeks! Ha!
