Getaway Ideas

G'day All,

Wifes birthday coming during the next long weekend in November. So Iam looking for somewhere a bit different from the usual haunts that we have already visited to take her and the kids for a bit of a getaway.

I have heard Barichara is a beautiful little town but its probably a little too far from Bogota. Any other ideas would be appreciated,

Scott
PS Villa de Lleya, Villavicencio and Giradot are all out. We have done them all too many times. Looking for something with nice views and fresh air so the kids can run their legs off.

PSS And whilst Iam here a photo from last weekends drive around Macheta way.

Scott, I would like to invite you and your family to spend the weekend with us on the farm near Pacho (about 1.5 hrs from Bogota) but unfortunately Maria and I are currently stuck in Australia trying to sell our house here in Townsville. Our boys are managing the farm but are very busy at this time.

We are still hopeful to be back home on the farm before Christmas, so maybe we can get together then. I'm sure your kids will enjoy running wild on the farm.

Regardless of the distance I would take Barichara, Guane. It would be a nice experience for the whole famiy, kids would be busy in San Gil and Parque el Gallilneral.

A shorter trip would be in Chicaque, 20 minutes or less from Soacha. There is a nice wood hotel El Refugio, and camping zone and lots of natural settings.
