Most people really don't know much about Boyaca and the activities there. There is a Sanchocho and Arepas Festival, A Water Festival, A Mariachis Festival, Processions to the Mountain Top and masses there, These and other festivals go unnoiticed by the rest of Colombia. The Department of Boyaca is varied, large and spectacular. It extends from the low and hot Llanos to the high peaks of El Coquy. It is home to a long and gloried history from The Temple to the Sun God, The Swamps of Vargas, The bridge of Boyaca and the various Emerald mines here and around Muso. In many ways Boyaca is a distilation of the great things of Colombia

Thanks Bill for the comments. I was there, it was pretty crazy getting pummeled by a large group of folks with tomatoes. We all went and tried to get clean in the river afterward. The weather was very cold.
