A while ago I posted a very brief comment about a King in Santiago, Chile.
This king however is a different kind of king, he's known in Chile as the cumbia King or "EL Rey de la cumbia chilena"
Tommy Rey has been granted with the National Music Award by the President of Chile and this event happened several years ago and I do not have the date handy.
Anyway, I thought it was musically worthy to mention the grand journeys of her majesty, la cumbia
Here you can read more details about it.

Monpirri says on Sep 14, 2009, 03:07: Kurios, thanks for your comment, but do not worry about it, just buy couples of DVDs with lots of Colombian music in it and you will be able to gradually get familiar with the music. i.e. Cumbias, Vallenatos, Joropos, Bambucos, Colombian Salsa...
