Mitch was given the avatar´s ficticious name, address, telephone number, and told that she was expecting a call from him that night.

Hello Britabroad. What part of UK are you from?

Love and Time: the only two things that cannot be bought, but only spent

CatGirl says on Feb 18, 2008, 20:42:

I'm from the USA, mostly Northern California has been my home ;)
I am more of a Wine and Grand Mariner drinker (rare anyways)
Although I never had the chance to go to Newcastle, the one beer I will drink is Newcastle. I used to belong to a dart team and play at the local pub in college.
London, eh? Been there...Birmingham and a handful of other cities/towns, my favorite is the outskirts of Bath. Beautiful. They still have gypsies out there? jaja

Jajaja. On my trek across the UK between Bath and Shakespeare's Land - Stratford Upon Avon or there abouts. Came across a band of Gypsies. Just had to take a pic, the little wooden (horse or Mule?) Drawn carriage. Was quite a site. I have no use for Los Angeles either. could not pay me enough to live there - eeek. (Sorry MS)
Spent most my time in South Hampton. Also had a great opportunity to watch the Wolverines practive in Birmingham - got to take pics with the owner of the Futbol' team at the time...cant recall his name. Pudgy bit of an upstart he was, jajaja.
Bye Now ;)

Hey Britta, see you managed to get the post deleted!´I went to Cali last year but got robbed at gunpoint twice in 3 days, i stayed for more than 2 weeks thinking i would find something to keep me there but couldn´t. Do you know Dave, the English guy who owns the Calidad Hostel?, very helpful and friendly guy. Are you working here or retired?

Hey Brita. So you´re enjoying live our here then? Better than old blighty at this depressing time of year, i read the English news every day, just really to remind me that there´s nothing to rush home for. I´ve put my house up for sale in England to get one out here but the timing couldn´t have been worse, with the house market going down the toilet over there and the peso climbing daily! About 6 months too late i think.
I am working out here, well, i´m in the middle of starting my own business. I´m a website designer so setting up a webdesign business, i´ve not really worked for 4 years so it´s a bit of a shock to the system and want to find a nice balance between working and enjoying life.
Anyway, nice to meet you, off to make some solders for my egg.

Take care, Paul

Ian aka comrad. Miliatry man eh? To be honest i probably would have guessed that with your battle plans againsts our "loveable colonial cousins"

To be honest, you will never loose out with houses in the UK, eventually they will be back to the crazy prices again, if i can buy 2 with the profit then it will be worth my while, if not, i wont sell.

I was getting excited about getting a place over here but have to be smart about it, on paper i would be better off selling, but that was in Dec when the peso was 4200. Just a bit sick of chasing rent every month.

Yeah, i was having fun on that thread, just a little bit of pushing in a few sensitive areas and all hell breaks loose, what a hoot!

I´m working on a classifieds site at the moment, it´s driving me mad(because it´s in spanish and English so everything has to be done twice) but nearly finished now. Just needs a bit of brightening up, you can be the first to see it http://www.clasificadoscolombiano.com/ .

A nice British curry would be nice tonight!

"A nice British curry"...what is that?

I used to live in the Middle East and was unfortunately befriended by many Indian families who took me to my word when I said I loved curry. I think they understood when at their first invitation I sweated several litres before their eyes.

Checked your profile Brit and decided to risk associating with you. The stated appreciation of rugby AND football nearly turned me off but many gluttons for punishment have hidden qualities.

Are there enough of us Brits around to get up a cricket team?

P.S. What is the procedure for setting up an avatar (is this word in the dictionary?)

As a person who has difficulty opening the bonnet of his car...please do not make this too difficult.

Britabroad,

It gets serious in a couple of days so have you got a good stock of beer and chips to see you through the day(s).

Lets just forget the guys from the other side of the Atlantic.....how many medals do you think we will get? I am very hopeful for the cycling....what a pity we are not much good at anything else?

Britabroad,

Just saw your message to me about rugby.

The good news is the sports channels here give good coverage of it (Argentinian interest I suppose).

The bad news is that England are looking worse than ever.

The even worse news is that my local football team (Tottenham) don't look as if they could beat a girls' team.

Hi Rocco,
I´m from the north-east of England (Newcastle) but lived in London from the age of 9. Now in Colombia.
Used to play lots of rugby, but it doesn´t do your joints any good. Imagine playing American Football without the padding and helmets. Ouch!
But I coud never bring myself to play cricket, so I played soccer instead.
